Could Fats Prevent Child Obesity ?

Only “good” fats, not other kinds of fats, may have a good influence on children`s metabolism, according to recent Swedish studies. Researchers found that children who follow a diet low in good fats can become overweight.

The study involved almost two hundred four-year old children, and supervised their insulin levels, dietary intake, lifestyle, and eating habits. After the Body Mass Index (BMI) measures, twenty-three percent of them were considered overweight and two percent obese.

The results showed a connection between the fat intake and the BMI. Children with high BMI were gaining weight but they were not the ones who consumed the biggest amount of fat. More fats were consumed by children with normal or low BMI. The problem with overweight children was that their bodies stored too much fat.

A third of the children who participated to the study had a deficiency of unsaturated fat in the diet, especially omega-3 fat, according to a researcher who led the study. Researchers also found that children who gained weight had the highest insulin level, girls in particular. Girls who consumed a lot of unsaturated fat had the lowest insulin level.

The study showed unhealthy eating habits since twenty percent of the children ate “junk” food like candies, sweets, soft drinks, cookies, ice cream, or biscuits and the daily amount of fruits and vegetables was of only 140 grams per day compared to the recommended 400 grams.

in calcium and magnesium such as eggs, dairy products, cereals, nuts, ice cream, grapefruit, apples, carrots, mandarins, and foods without salt.

Mothers who’d like to have a boy should eat foods with high amounts of sodium and potassium like meat, fish, beans, rice, potatoes, peaches, tomatoes, and apricots.

The study’s authors pointed out that diet is only one of several factors that may influence a baby’s gender.

Although no one can guarantee that your diet can be decisive in establishing your baby’s gender, at least you may end up following a healthy diet while being pregnant.

Gender Causing Different Predisposition to Obesity

Ways to Get Better Looking Abs

1. The Basic crunch for your upper abs – In order to perform the routine, get into the start position where you lie on your back, your knees are bent and your feet rest on the floor. With your upper abs, start to curl your upper torso so that your shoulder blades would lift off from the floor. As you try to curl, make sure that your chest bone is aimed toward your belly bottom. Then start to contract the abs more intensely and then try to lower down your torso and lightly touching your shoulder blades to the ground. Then you need to repeat the process. Make sure that you differentiate the ab crunch from the sit up for the sit up is not recommended for the reason that it often causes a number of injuries. In order to maximize the contraction, you need to take a full breath at the bottom of the repetition and then hold that air as you try to contract upwards. Then as you reach the top, make sure to squeeze your abs and then in two counts contract them and then release and breath out then return to the start position again.

2. Reverse crunch for your lower abs – To start the crunch, you need to lie on your back and then keep your knees in bent position and then position your feet at least six inches above the floor. Then you need to place your hands just behind your head. Keep your feet close to your hips and then contract it as you lower your abs. Then slowly bring your knees closer to your chest and then lift your butt off to the floor. Then once you curl your lower body, slowly lower it down again to the start position. This routine is much easier for the females than the males since they have shorter upper body and longer legs which makes the crunch easy. However, if you want to have more challenge to the routine, try to do it with the use of an incline bench in order to add gravity and resistance as you place your hips lower than your chest.

3. The Side crunch for your obliques – If you want to target the muscles in your waist area then the side crunch is perfect. Here you need to lie on your back again with your knees in bent position and ready to do a traditional crunch. Then place your feet on the ground with your right hand on the side of your midsection and your left hand on the side of your head. Then keep your knees as one unit and then allow it to fall on the right while your head and your chest is facing the ceiling.

These routines are all geared for your abs and the same routines can be made more difficult by adding half foam rollers, incline benches or by holding it there on a particular position to maximize the contraction.

Hammer Curl – This exercise targets the brachialis muscle. If you develop this muscle properly, then it will add a lot of size to your arms.

Incline Dumbbell Curl – Again it is similar to the other exercises. The added strech makes this one also very effective bicep building exercise.

Parallel Bar Dip – This is by far the best exercise to build your triceps. It is very effective because like the Close Grip Chin Up, it your body through space. By the way, did you know that the tricep makes up 2/3 of the upper arm. Don´t make the mistake of only training your biceps.

Close Grip Bench – This is another tricep builder and you can put on some serious weight on the bar.

Angled Bar Pushdown – This exercise really isolates your triceps and it also doesn´t put that much stress on your elbows.

EZ Bar Lying Triceps Extensions – A very effective isolation exercise for the triceps, but it can create some elbow problems so be a little careful with that.

If you really want to get huge arms quickly then you have to use these exercises. Don´t waste your time with other exercises, which are not as effective.
